Reflections from Fall Fiesta in the Park

Reflections from Fall Fiesta in the Park

During the weekend of November 1–2, 2025, I participated in my second art fair—Fall Fiesta in the Park at Lake Eola Park in Orlando, Florida.

First, my tent booth setup was much improved from my first show. Take a look at the photos.

I invested time in creating a cleaner layout and more cohesive presentation that truly reflected my brand, Savvy Sista Art. The framed pieces were displayed at eye level, my signage was clear, and my overall color scheme flowed beautifully with my artwork. Still, there’s room for improvement. I realized that the placement of my prints and smaller items could be more strategic to encourage buyers and smoother traffic flow.

One of the biggest lessons I learned was the importance of booth flow and lighting. Natural light changes throughout the day, and what looks perfect in the morning can appear dull or shadowed by afternoon. Next time, I’ll bring lights to give my smaller works more visibility and dimension.

Another takeaway: people love connection. Conversations with visitors often turned into meaningful exchanges about creativity, faith, and inspiration. I discovered that storytelling—sharing the “why” behind each piece—sparked genuine interest and often led to sales.

I also noticed that diverse price points matter. While my larger original paintings drew admiration, many attendees were drawn to my smaller prints. These accessible items helped more people take a piece of Savvy Sista Art home with them, which ultimately expanded my collector base.

The only original that sold was “The Lady in Pink”. Archival prints of this piece of artwork are still available.

Lastly, I learned to embrace the process and enjoy the experience. Every fair teaches something new—about my art, my audience, and myself. As I continue growing as an artist and entrepreneur, I’m excited to refine my setup, strengthen my marketing strategy, and create even more engaging spaces for art lovers to experience my work.

Here’s to the next show. To every opportunity to share beauty, faith, and creativity with the world.
